Marketplaces

A marketplace is a distribution channel with a fee schedule attached. The commission is only one line: payment processing, listing fees, subscriptions, fulfilment, advertising and returns decide the real take rate. The same 15% referral fee can leave a seller with very different margins depending on the category and the fulfilment model.

These entries describe the fee structure and the operating model of the major retail marketplaces, and link to a calculator where you can plug in your own price, cost and rates. Presets are starting points, not quotes: rates vary by category and country and change often, so confirm them in the seller centre before committing to a price.
