Selling into 13 retail markets

Each market entry states the tax rate a seller actually meets, the low-value threshold that decides whether a parcel is worth shipping, and the platforms that carry the demand. Figures are tied to the customs or tax authority and carry the date they were checked.

How to read these entries

Three numbers decide most cross-border retail economics: the import tax rate, the customs duty rate for the product's tariff code, and the value at which duty or tax relief stops. The first and third are published per market and are recorded here. The second is product-specific, so the entries explain the basis rather than invent a rate.

Every fact row carries a check date. When a rule changes — and several changed in 2026 — the entry and the calculator presets are updated together. If a figure here disagrees with the customs authority, the authority wins; the source link is in each entry so the claim can be checked in one hop.

What changed in 2026

The United States suspended its $800 de minimis for all countries, so duty now starts at the first dollar. The European Union ended its €150 duty exemption on 30 June 2026 and replaced it with a temporary flat €3 duty on parcels up to €150, running until 30 June 2028. The United Kingdom opened a consultation on removing its £135 duty relief, with implementation targeted by March 2029 at the latest.

Outside those three, the thresholds are older but no less consequential: Canada's courier remission is CAD 20 in general, Australia's is AUD 1,000, Japan's is ¥10,000, Singapore's is S$400 and the UAE's is AED 1,000. A single price list shipped to all of them is a margin accident waiting to happen.
