Eight product categories, one compliance file each

The market decides the registration; the product decides the tests. These entries group the evidence by product category so a seller can see what a technical file contains, which tests are usually expected, and where the recurring cost sits.

A test report is one document in a file

A conformity file is more than a passing lab report. It connects the product identity to the applicable standard, states who is responsible, records the manufacturing site and the bill of materials, and carries the declaration that the product meets the rule. When a market-surveillance officer or a marketplace asks for evidence, the report alone often does not answer the question.

The file should also show the version. Products change — a new supplier, a different battery, a revised enclosure — and an old report can stop covering the item being sold. Version control is the difference between a file that defends the product and a folder of PDFs.

Recurring cost sits in registrations, not tests

Testing is usually a one-off cost per SKU family, while registration, representation and producer responsibility recur every year. A seller who budgets only for testing tends to discover the recurring layer after launch, when the listings are already live and the packaging is already printed.

The compliance checker separates the two: a one-off testing range and a recurring fixed-cost range for the destination. Use the product entries below to scope the tests, and the market entries in the market compliance reference to scope the registrations.
